About The Class

Suang Yang is similar to Tai Chi. You will probably have seen images of people practising slow, flowing movements in parks. This is very much what Suang Yang is like. It is a martial art, a health exercise, and a form of moving meditation.

What am I going to learn?

Initially a student will learn exercises to improve their balance, posture, breathing, flexibility and strength. Once a degree of competence has been achieved in these basic principles they will begin to learn the 66-movement Suang Yang form. Pushing hands and applications of the form are also covered in the classes, as well as some basic QiGong movements, and some light meditation.

So can anyone join in?

Complete beginners are always welcome. The class is for adults, but children are welcome to attend. If you have any injuries, or anything else which may affect your training, it is important to discuss this with the instructor at the beginning of the class, and we can discuss how to work round this. It is always possible to cut certain exercises and movements out of your training to suit individual needs.
